HOME SWEET HOME - SIGNIFICANT DIGITAL PREMIERE OF SÁMI FILMS

The film trailer for ISFI's Home Sweet Home (original title "Oru lea buoret go jođi") mini-series has been released on ISFI and Sapmifilm's social media channels. In April ISFI initiated a film challenge for Sámi filmmakers to depict the on-going situation with COVID-19 through film. Altogether 18 directors took part in the challenge and created 15 short films. This marks a historic moment for Sámi cinema as there has never been released as many Sámi films in such a short period of time. 

"Home Sweet Home mini-series is truly significant milestone. The Sámi filmmakers have done great work to make these stories happen regardless of all the restrictions that are taking place around the world. They have used used humour and other artistic ways to portray this serious situation. We are proud to present these great films to you all", says ISFI Managing Director Anne Lajla Utsi. 

Home Sweet Home mini-series will have its premiere on ISFI's streaming service Sapmifilm on Friday 5th of June. ISFI will celebrate the digital premiere by hosting filmmaker Q&A conversation on Zoom with Aslak Paltto, Marja Helander and Sara Margrethe Oskal. The Q&A will be streamed on ISFI's Facebook page.
